Awareness
This week we completed a little awareness assessment. I wasn't surprised by most of the categories. One that did take me aback was physical awareness. I have always considered myself to be in pretty good shape. I run almost everyday and lift three to four times a week. I realized fast from the questions that were asked in this category that its not just about working out. Other areas of my life are most likely affecting my physical health. The lifestyle I live is evidently not the best for me. I would like to work on taking better care of myself.

I agree with you, I forget to think about the other stuff that contributes to physical awareness. For example sleeping more and eating healthy.. I feel we just forget about how important it is to take care of ourselves when our lives get busy.
ReplyDeleteI think that our physical awareness at this point in time of our lives is going to be lower because right now our main focus is of course school. For me that means that I have to work on a lot of things for LONG PERIODS of time and the result of that is I get little sleep. My eating habits, however improved they may have gotten over the last year, are still bad, partially because I am either eating at a restuarant or at a dinning center which without realizing you can end up with more than enough food. So although we can watch ourselves a little more closely in the end I think that part of how our standings may be now are affected by how our lives are run while being in college. So we will just have to work extra hard to keep ourselves on the right track
ReplyDeleteI know physical health is probably an area everybody needs to work on. I just recently started focusing on it more and am still working on it. It's good though that we are all recognizing this now, so we can fix it for later.
